How to Visualize Value
- Website: How to Visualize Value
- Language: English
- Type: Course ($99)
This design fundamentals course was created by the well-known digital artist in the NFT field, Jack Butcher. It is his first course created before he became famous. As the name suggests, "How to Visualize Value" focuses on how to use design to communicate information, including principles of visualization, visual composition, design elements, tools, publishing works, and social media promotion. The course is concise and practical. It is recommended for creators who want to self-promote on social media, but please note that the course requires payment.
Introduction to design systems
- Website: Introduction to design systems
- Language: English
- Type: Video
This is the official tutorial released by Figma, the most popular design tool, two months ago. The tutorial covers the concept of design systems, necessary knowledge of UI design, and how to build design systems in Figma. It can be regarded as the best practice tutorial for modern UI design. This tutorial does not provide a step-by-step guide on how to use Figma. If you are completely unfamiliar with Figma, it is recommended to start with the official tutorial Figma for Beginners and the Figma Basics in the above "How to Visualize Value" tutorial.
Stable Diffusion
- Website: AI Drawing Course on Bilibili
- Language: Chinese
- Type: Video
First of all, the AIGC tool recommends Stable Diffusion (SD) instead of Midjourney (MJ) because SD has more controllable ControlNet, more models, higher playability, and easier output for production (especially game materials). The disadvantage is that it requires configuring various parameters, but it is not difficult for programmers to understand.
There are many SD tutorials on Bilibili, and this series of videos is the best one I have seen on Bilibili. The creator has a set of methodological approaches to course production, and the course is concise, rich in content, and enjoyable to watch. In addition to the formal lessons, the cutting-edge SD techniques in the additional lessons are also worth watching.
Niji · Academy
- Website: Niji Official Tutorials
- Language: English/Japanese/Chinese/Korean
- Type: Text
After mastering the use of SD, if you want to further improve the quality of your work, you can learn from this tutorial. Niji is an AI drawing platform mainly based on the two-dimensional style, similar to Midjourney. It has a course called Niji · Academy (can be found in the lower left corner of the linked page), which combines art fundamentals with artificial intelligence technology. The course focuses on aesthetics, highlighting the difference between AI drawing and human artists. Currently, only 3 lessons + 3 exercises have been updated, and there is a Chinese translation on the WeChat official account 「歸藏的 AI 工具箱」.
Summary
Design is ultimately a practical discipline, and to become a professional designer, experience and project accumulation are more important. As a programmer or cryptocurrency player, completing the above tutorials is enough to have design capabilities to meet various needs.
